Happy Gotcha Day

It is amazing that a whole year since July 21 st 2014 has gone by. It seems only yesterday we piled into the very hot Civil Affairs office in Nanchang, China and met our new daughter for the very first time. She was so nervous and so were we. Now, it's been a year since she's been home and what a year it has been, filled with ups and downs and every emotion in between. Has it been easy? No but has it been worthwhile? It certainly has. Maya has grown up quite a bit since then and is evolving into a beautiful young girl. There is more healing to do, more adjusting. It's not over yet but we will persevere with love and support for her. I'm sure it will be an adventure.

Sharks and Jellyfish

We finally paid a visit some great white sharks at the Ripley's Aquarium. We took the kids to see all the fishes in the sea but it was quite entertaining for the adults alike. Loved the moving side walk through the aquarium that curves right over our heads and around us. It's amazing. We all had lots of fun especially the kids with all the games and different things they had there for them to do. There was even a sawshark with it's very long serrated nose, rather unusual looking and there were a couple of large turtles poking around but the sharks, stingrays and the jellyfish were our favourites.

Little One Grows

Receiving a new member into the family is the most wonderful thing. A lot of love and excitement is all around. Our hearts are filled with hope for this little one, Jaxon, that he grows into a sweet little boy.  That he is doing, growing. This boy wants to eat all the time. He sleeps for a few hours here and there but usually a little nap will do and then it's time to eat again and again. He is looking nice and plump and has passed ten pounds probably a couple of weeks ago. Big brother is starting to come around. He is getting quite protective of him and will even give him a quick kiss on the cheek ever now and then.
