Layers

We have wall paper in our dining room. I love wallpaper, especially flowery kind but this is very old wallpaper and in some places it is coming off and the underneath is exposed.  In one spot the underneath looks black so we took a better look. The wallpaper beneath this first one you see here is also peeling off and the one beneath that as well. So there are many layers of wallpaper underneath this delicate light pink rose and it's who knows how many years old. I like having pictures of this kind of thing as a memento of what was here well before us and of course I'm going to keep some pieces of it.

Town Tour

This time we are out an about on the town close to home in St. Stephen. We showed mom and dad and Stevo some of the highlights around here but keep in mind it's a small town so there isn't a great deal to be seen. We did manage to find a few things like the dam, church and a beautiful statue that is a dedication to the town. It was sunny on this day so a little bit easier to get around. We did stop off to read the plaques that are by the statue and to take a better look at the dam and in our drive by we did see Todd's Mansion being as interesting as ever.. at the very bottom.

Auction Time

We attended an Auction. I like auctions. You never know what you are going to find. We went to a couple so far and each time we found a few items we wanted to bring home but you know your wallet is also a couple hundred dollars lighter.  Anyway, on this day we were bidders 75 and my honey bought me a beautiful Royal Dalton Dinner set. It was quite a large set so it will come handy at the Inn as well. It looks so delicate and elegant, love it. Below is Buddy again sitting in someone else's lap, this time it's Brandon's lap. He just liked to be close to someone and we all obliged happily.

Walking in WInter

We're just getting out a little around town and taking a look at St. Croix river. It was a little nippy for a walk but we managed in our coats and hats and everything else that comes with winter in Canada.

Later we took a ride to St Andrews on the Sea to take a look down there.
We walked along the pier even though it was still very cold.
At least it was sunny so we looked around town too. It was still
deserted because it's not tourist season yet and when it is
this place is crawling with tourists. At the end of our walk
we stopped by for a Pizza/

Checking on the Attic

On this day in 2019, mom and dad are checking out the attic and the shape that it's in. It is a bit finished and mostly not finished so there is lots of work here to do. We would like to use all the space and rooms for either more living space, maybe some chilling rooms or nothing else then some nice storage rooms for all our stuff, and yes mostly mine.

Mom teaches Maya how to sort out beans
and get it cooked, usually in a stew. Maya kind of
liked this because you have to concentrate on it
like math and she likes math.

Dad balanced sitting in this comfortable chair to watch some TV
with a bit of exercise on this stepper. I thought he did
pretty good. I have to start using it again sometimes.
Wink. Wink.

Just some odds and ends at a garage sale we went to and
found this phrase frame. It is now hanging in our living room.
Sherie likes words like that so I got it for her.

Maya, Buddy and a Ride

Here is Maya with her Hello Kitty painting at school. She got to take art in one of her semesters and got to do a few artistic things. She even got a 100% in it and I think she enjoyed it too. Usually she's not very confident of her artistic abilities but this proves she's got some.

In this pic is my mom and Buddy doing what he loved best
sit in someone's lap. Mom always got a kick out of that because
doggies do what doggies do which is get up to sit in your lap with no
please or thank you, lol. Mom is not really a dog person
but she let them have their way.

We're heading out to the store and it's cold and snowy outside.
As you can see here there is lots and lots of snow.
The trees however look fantastic in it.
And on our way are miles and miles of beautiful trees.

Crisp Air

So this was back in 2019 when my parents and my son came to visit us at our new home in NB. It was winter but most days were sunny and we were able to get out in our coats and hats and wonder around to see just what is going on here. Well not too much really as all the trees and grass were still asleep but what is the greatest about this is that we are not stuck in a city where the next house is only five feet away in almost all direction, so we love it here with the spaces we're so not used to. The air is different here, much crispier and clearer which is beautiful not to be surrounded with so much smog. Below Sherie is making Sarma under the watchful eye of her grandma who is an expert at it. The meal turned out very well and then there was also mom's famous soup.  At the very bottom is a picture of Kristina, though she was not here at that time she was thought of often.
