Secrets

Look at these two little brothers sharing secrets at the dinner table. Every now and then they get along and share a laugh. That's how it is between brothers. They each want to be the boss of the other however the older is older for a reason and so the younger will have to wait to be the boss.

We took a trip to St. John for a day to do some shopping. It was a really nice day, cold but nice. The sky and clouds were particularly beautiful highlighting the downtown area and the harborfront. Later on the way back the sun came out to throw reflections under every tree. Beauty was all around us. Enjoyed the day very much and the week in between the Holiday Season.

Back at home I got out a little in the backyard. Love venturing out there on the days when it's not too cold or deep with snow.  I make sure to have my trusty parka to keep warm on these cold days.

Next Days

Next day on Christmas Day there were a few more presents to be opened. We got to it quickly, well because who can wait?? So the kids got extra goodies and they were happy with that. The rest of the week was spent eating, playing and just being together. We are together as together can be living under the same roof but not all of us so we spent some time on Skype keeping up with the rest of family so we saw everyone. Thank goodness for modern technology. The weather was pretty good and we had a nice evening. I stole some quiet moments in the dining room. Georgia seemed to find a quiet place too where she hung out for a while.

Christmas Eve 2019

So finally Christmas Eve came and sat down to eat our dinner. We had our traditional meals, the Muscle Soup and a plate of Fish. We had lots of room for all of us at the table. I love having a table large enough to fit all of us and more however the kids could not wait to open presents so we ate in a hurry and got started on the gifts in the parlor. Here too lots of room for a big beautiful tree, lots of us and lots of presents. Watching kids open presents is priceless so we indulged in that. Everyone got something and everyone was happy. This was the first time we were away from the rest of our family and we missed them but we had many, many, many Christmases with them and we treasure that and besides there is always face time and Skype. So this was our first Christmas at our house.

Decorating

Just a few spots around the house with all the color. I know it's February now and I'm still recalling Christmas but a special time it was in our new home and town. We were excited to decorate it and spend family time in different corners of the house even if Georgie wasn't too thrilled with it yet.

A Walk in the Snow

It was one day in December just before Christmas that it snowed and so it was Sherie's idea to put on our snow pants and go for a walk in the woods. It was beautiful fresh snow and we loved the walk. The little ones really enjoyed it. A great idea it was especially when the woods and all the nature and trees were so tall and lovely. A little ways in and we were at a canyon and a creek below where we stopped to take a family photograph. Our new pup Georgia who may have never seen snow loved it too. This is a beautiful spot right in town that we hope to visit again.
