Holiday Season 2019

I'm going to interrupt recalling the months earlier in the year to update my blog with out current life and the holiday season. December has begun and will soon come to a close. Our family was apart while Sherie and John and kids were away on vacation but now we are together again. We enjoyed decorating the house with lots of Christmas decorations. It goes so well with our vintage home. We looked forward to the cozy winter nights and the glitter of Christmas lights. John has been busy cooking up different meals for different occasions. Love the red chairs in the dining room with the sunlight streaming in. Below are all our stockings hung in a row on our fireplace mantle. Kids still enjoy the little things they will find in them on Christmas morning.

Golden Hands

Here is a better look at the Hands of Blair House. They were getting a clean up and update of their electrical parts so I took some close ups while they were out of commission so the speak. They are very delicate and beautiful. Never seen anything like this before so we are keeping these golden Hands for as long as we can.

Furry Friends

Just a bit of our furry little ones. Here is Buddy, Sabrina and River. I'm not sure who is keeping who warm here but Jax and Buddy were often together like this on a chair or couch keeping the chills off each other.

Getting Around

Love the little ceramic Blair House we have on the mantle, very beautiful piece of art. Right below is the real thing covered in snow. We're keeping the driveway well plowed but I don't venture out without my warm Woods coat that has a very furry hood. It keeps me warm and makes me feel like I have lots of hair which is always good. Maya is getting around outside too but gotta watch for those icicles clinging to the roof edge. Also shown is the amazing front hall of the Inn and a real snow storm in the Soo.

Had to show this photo my daughter Kristina sent me of the snow they are having in Sault Ste Marie. So if we're complaining about some snow it is nothing comparing to what she is dealing with. She couldn't even get out her front door.

By the Fire

In these very cold days we keep warm by the fire. It heats up quite nicely and we have wood left over from the previous owners. So when it's cozy like this, cold on the outside but warm on the inside it's a good time for a little nap and some of us take advantage of this more than others. Below are some selfies of me because there are hardly any photos of me with the kids when they were growing up because I was always behind the camera and now days thanks to the reversible camera and the invention of selfies I can make sure the kids have something to remember me by.

Pink Roses

Sometime earlier this year was Valentine's Day. I know, way earlier but wanted to record the flowers received on that particular day. I love any and all flowers because their beauty is so fleeting and precious, here today, gone tomorrow but we can remember them in photos. I especially love pink flowers and even more especially pink roses and so that's why the title of this blog for a long time now. Also spotted a pair of birds in one of my very tall trees, sitting together so close. Brandon shows off his work at school and Jax shows off whatever red he has.

Snow Days

Snow scenes are from earlier this year, so beautiful and white here in the country. I couldn't stop taking pictures of it. It was like a winter wonderland. Loved watching from the windows and stepping outside. Looking forward to a good snow fall this winter as well. No snow right now but I'm sure it will be here in the not too distant future.
