We were in Obrovac for coffee before, but this time it was a coffee and a walk around town. Getting to Obrovac involves driving by this amazing view of Velebit Mountains. We come to where the Novigrad Sea narrows into Zrmanja River, and that's where Obrovac lives. The river runs right through it. Local kitties quickly greeted us. In town square are old buildings that had seen better times. Before the early 1990's war one of the buildings housed commercial offices and a bar called Caffee Bar Pariz. After the town was repossessed by the Croatian soldiers, in Operation Storm or Operacija Oluja in August 1995, the cafe was renamed Caffe Bar Oluja in memory of the liberation. During the conflict the building was shelled and damaged, but burned down in March 2025. Town of Obrovac is investing in general renevations of the town. On another note please note below the neat and tidy swallow nests.
