Sea & Sunset

This is just another stunning sunset in Zadar. We like to sit on one of the benches or at a cafe overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Love the tropical trees some of which are pretty tall. Seagulls swoop in and out of the air and of course the sunset is the backdrop to all this beauty.

Delicate

This beautiful flower hangs on the old stone wall close to us, looking super delicate and pretty. Here is Charlie trying to enquire about a Vozi Vespa ride and then it's on to supper further up the road.

The Charm of Zadar

Here are some more details from our walks. This is the old town of Zadar we are staying in, which is a half island built in the ancient times. The rest of city of Zadar is more modern and less charming than the old town. Most of the old town is car free zone so that the tourists have lots of space to get around to the many shops and restaurants that are here.

Vozi Vespa Scooter Rental

Across this beautiful water and boat scene plus that lovely red brick house, and another ancient artifact, the lion gates, is our son Stevo's complete fleet of Vespa scooters for rental that he got off the ground a few years ago. The company is VoziVespa which is a cute and catchy name. He has a few different colors and the newest color is blue. The blue bike is slightly more powerful than the rest, so hopefully it will be rented by a more experienced bike rider. We are pretty proud of our son for going after his dream of living and working in Croatia, and even be his own boss. Congrats Steven.

Dinner in Old Town

Supper time rolled around pretty quickly. It was a three and a half hour drive on the bus and even though mom packed us each a sandwich by the time we arrived at our destination we were hungry again. Steven took us to one of the side street restaurants where we had white wine and a nice seafood dinner accompanied by bread and olive oil dipping. I also ordered a salad to go with it. Tiny fishes surrounded the prawns but I've never seen any fish that small before. Afterward, of course we had to take a walk around and we ended up down by the Riva where the sun was super bright. Going back home we took a different route by the ancient churches of Zadar that look like gold monuments from the past and we never eat without stopping somewhere else for another drink or ice cream.
