Figs Green & Dried

Mom and I took a walk down the street and found these figs someone was drying on the fence. There were lots more on the tree, green ones and brown ones I like the figs either way but they're even sweeter dried. At the bottom is the sea I painted while in Zadar and hung it in the new dining room. The other framed art is the Cathedral in Zagreb that came with the house.

Unusual Glow at the Beach

By late afternoon it was still cloudy but hot enough to go swimming. Even with the clouds the views were perfect, giving the sky an unusual glow. Later, waves came in so mom was happy just to sit and stick her feet in the water and collect more rocks for the garden in Zagreb. We had a bit to drink at the nearby cafe and then called it a day.

Wind Aliens

These are just a few more pictures on the way back from the spring, lots of rocks everywhere.  Then there is the pipeline going all the way up the mountain, and those things I call the aliens because those wind turbines always look so strange and giant to me.

Spring Water Part 2

So, we drove quite a ways, deep into the Velebit country and eventually, after asking around, found the little spring. It comes directly off the mountain, but it looked like any other creek, with rocks and moss, broken branches etc. We did fill our water bottles. The little spot was quite enchanting as forests go, with lots of greenery and yes, rocks. It was still cloudy but it didn't rain much so at least we had a little adventure but never got wet. In the end, we were too afraid to drink the water. We thought of boiling it but what's the point in that.
