Out on the Town

Some kind of ceremonies were going on in the center of town of Zagreb. There were horses and men dressed in the old folk dress to honor of King Tomislav at the outdoor market named after the King himself. We stayed a little to hear the music they were playing and to see the horses perform.

they had the cutest miniature horses there, especially the little one who is so little he was scared from Maya when she came over to see him

Zagreb's Cathedral called the Cathedral of Assumption has been getting an overhaul as long as I can remember but with as much detail as there is on this church it's easy to see why it would take so long. So they put up a replica of the tower while it is getting repaired.

Maya is ken on picking up lots of souvenirs so is her sister and another one at home supplied us with a bit of a list of what we were to watch out for her.

this is one of the prettiest statues of the virgin Mary and four angels I've ever seen done in gold plating and very fine detail. The angels symbolize the Christian virtues of Faith, Hope, Innocence and Humility, Austrian sculptor Fernkorn created these beautiful statues.

The heat was intense and thankfully there was some breeze to cool us off a bit and so my hair blowing in the wind.

On the hunt for that souvenir that is just right for the person they have in mind. Let me tell you it could take hours, not kidding. It is fun at first but after a while it could get exhausting.

This is neat, they have the most of town shrunk down in size and recreated in bronze. It was cool to try and find all the landmarks that are famous in Zagreb.

and we can't do without another selfie, I'm guilty of taking too many pictures but not as many selfies as two young ladies and here the opportunities for a selfie are endless and the trip has only just begun
