The River

While we waited for our paperwork to be completed so we can sign the final piece we had lunch by the very frozen St Croix River. There was still beauty there from the colorful lighthouse at the end of the pier to the blocks of ice swept at the edge of the shoreline to the town of Calais in the USA just a stone throw away from St. Stephen. The skies were covered with clouds but sun was trying hard to peek through and eventually it did later on in the day. We picked up some sandwiches and ate in the car, watching the view that was so different from what we knew. Living by the river will be a new experience. Rivers are always beautiful and sometimes unpredictable There have been floods here but as far as we were told never reaching as far as our house to be.  We would be on a hill and hopefully safe from any natural disasters. Still we're looking forward to the future and life in this tiny town on the East Coast.
